Lake Matopo Recreational Park is located in Matopo is part of the Matobo National Park, area around Hazelside, Sandy Spruit and Lake Matobo. This is within the Matebeleland South province just 25km from Bulawayo. The park is a wildlife sanctuary and some spectacular balancing rocks and impressive views along the Thuli and Mpopoma river valleys. There are a lot of swampy valleys known as dambos or vleis. There are caves around the park which are major archaeological site. Accommodation in the park are mainly campsites like Arboretum Camp and Sandy Spruit Camp.
