The Kruger travel region is famous for South Africa's largest National Park, the Kruger National Park, where you are almost guaranteed to see the Big Five and much more. The park has superb facilities, with an excellent network of roads and game-viewing waterholes. The camps are big and have every amenity, from shops to banks to laundromats. There are also some smaller luxury camps for a more intimate experience with the bush. The more adventurous can do one of the Wilderness Trails. Experienced, armed game rangers guide groups of eight people through parts of the park that can best be explored by foot. It's a fantastic chance to discover the smaller creatures that can easily be overlooked from a moving vehicle. Motorbikes not allowed due to dangerous animals. (Dec-11).
