Maitland Mine 4wd Trail are part of the Maitland Nature Reserve in Port Elizabeth, Eastern cape Province of South Africa. There are three nature trails, the Sir Peregrine Maitland Nature Trail which is a 3 km self-guided trail along the old wagon road; the De Stades Nature Trail which is 9 km long trail and provides magnificent view of St Francis Bay and Maitland dunes; and then the Igolomi Trial which is a 4km walk passing through some of the thickest sections of the dense forest. All three of these join at old wagon trail which is of historical significance as it was one of the first attempts at mining in the Cape Colony in the late 18th Century.

Very challenging 4X4 trail. It has every terrain and different difficulty levels. Beautiful scenery around every corner. There are mud huts which can be booked to stay over and ablutions with a shower. The Deck is furnished with a build in braai and is really relaxing with the view over Beachview & Seaview coastlines.
