The town is small and well known for the famous bridge from where the name was derived. The bridge is located on the Sabi river and one of the largest inland bridges' serving Save river. The bridge is just 133km from Mutare. The bridge was designed by Ralph Freeman. Reported to still be in a good state 2019.
The sidewalks are paved with stalls and shops selling food, cold drinks, clothing, fresh produce and much more. There are several sidewalk tyre repair stalls with compressors, spare shops that mainly cater for trucks and buses, and 2 fuel stops that only sells 500ppm diesel.
