The Wild Coast is an area in the Eastern Cape known for its magnificent beauty and untamed wilderness. It is stretched out between Mtamvuna River in the north and the Great Kei River in the south. They have great weather conditions always mild with plenty of sunshine. Transkei forms a part of the Wild Coast and has remained relatively untouched throughout the years with tiny villages with a few fisherman's cottages, and a lone backpackers hostel or hotel here and there. The Wild Coast is best explored while hiking or from horseback. With no less than 7 nature reserves, popular fishing spots, beautiful untouched beaches and plenty of culture from the local Xhosa people, the Wild Coast is a fantastic place to visit. Must visit spots include Coffee Bay and Port St John.
