Holgat Pass is the 4th pass found when travelling through Baviaanskloof. Baviaanskloof has 6 breathtaking passes with Holgat pass being one of the most dangerous. The pass has a very narrow track with a big mountain climb for travellers heading eastwards.

TRAVELLERS FEEDBACK:
It has been reported that the pass has recently been maintained. It has a 2 spoor concrete path making the drive easier but still challenging. 4WD needed. (Dec-17)

“Holgat pass was recently maintained during our visit in April 2017. The pass is mainly tracked with a 2 spoor concrete path, it made towing our off road caravan interesting, but there were no bad sections (read: challenging 4x4)to speak off. I assume once these concrete spoors break up it would be a different story” - Henk van der Walt, 2017/10/04
