Domboshava was named after the huge granite hill close to the Village, dates back to 1450AD. Situated within the Mashonaland Central province of Zimbabwe. 'Dombo' means ' Rock' and 'shava' means Red. Situated in the northeast of the country, along the Masunga- Kalamati Road, Domboshava is one of the many historically built cement less, stone walls enclosures in Zimbabwe, just like the famous Great Zimbabwe ruins. Some have been reconstructed by the National Museum archaeologists to make them intact Some have however all weather conditions and remained intact up to date despite being cement less and their considerable massive width.
