Shipwreck Hiking and Canoe Trail dates back to 2008 when Dave Marias’s passion led him to start a canoe trail on the Kleinmonde West River and approached Landowners for hiking trails, with interesting coastal and inland trails. Three interesting self guided hiking trails are therefore offered.
OPTION 1: 4 Night/5 Day hiking Trail excluding Canoe Section East beach Port Alfred to Fish River Mouth. East Beach port Alfred to Fish River Mouth.
OPTION 2: 5 Night/6 Day Hiking Trail including Canoe Section.
OPTION 3: Overnight Canoe Trail; an 8km paddle up river – 4km hike to Lily Pad hut – return the next day.

Port Alfred to Fish River approximately 65km hike and 16km canoe return trip (Hike from Port Alfred East Beach all the way up the coast and inland, to Fish River, sleeping at different huts on 5 farms. (May-15)
