Located in Eastern Cape along the Baviaanskloof route, Tia Ghee is a Khoisan word which means ' secluded.' The tented camp is a peaceful bush camp along the stream on the foot of Elandsberge mountain in Gonjah farm in a thick natural forest. The permanent tents are build on a wooden deck with beds and bedding for over 20 persons, fully equipped and catered for, with breakfast, lunch and dinner available for guests and served in the lapa area or guests can choose self catering option with shared bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen and cleaning area is also available for self caterers. Clean ablution blocks with flush toilets and hot showers will ensure a comfortable stay despite the camp being in the middle of a bush. Lighting is available with lanterns and oil lamps, bedside electric lamps are also offered for convenience. There is a meeting area for up to 25 persons in the 'bosberaad.' for functions or business meetings. However those travelling by car should use vehicles with high ground clearance and much care need to be taken along some points along the route. (Updated Jan-13).
