The MEP is a project of the Grahamstown Foundation (GF) in partnership with the Makana Local Municipality (MLM) and Makana Tourism. The MEP developed the Fynbos Hub coffee shop and information centre, situated within the GF 1820 Settlers' Monument Building, which also displays local arts and crafts. The MEP works with Makana's local competitive advantages in tourism and education (e.g. world-class university and schools, National Arts Festival, Scifest Africa, world-class game reserves, heritage trails, volunteer programmes, short courses and experiences) to promote the region as a preferred edutourism destination. Fynbos Hub coffee shop operates Mon-Fri : 10:30 to 14:30 and all day during events and festivals. (Updated Feb-13).
