The chalets, bar and restaurant are currently under renovations. There is also a cozy, campsite, suitable for caravaners and campers, under big shade trees, directly on the shores of Lake Malawi. This is the ideal place to relax for the individual traveller. No overland trucks are allowed! This beach campsite is most loved by the individual self-drive visitor on his/her way through the more remote parts of Africa. It is so quiet, so far away from everything, just the right place to relax for a few days. Nice lush big lawns, beautiful braai places, friendly service. One can camp directly on the beach under large, indigenous trees. (May-18).

The rainy season here is from December to March. Sunga Moyo can be accessed by car or on foot. The main road is tar, and then a 2km gravel road to Sunga Moyo. The nearest airport is in Lilongwe, 6 hours away. Pre-booking at Sunga Moyo is preferred but not essential.
