Hoy's Koppie is often known as the Jewel of Hermanus and was formerly called 'Klip Kop' and later renamed Hoy's Koppie after Sir William Hoy, who was buried at the highest point, a wish he had expressed before his death. The koppie rises 75m above sea level. Has a sloping lower part with fynbos growth and dotted with huge rocks and stones. Enables a 360 views of the Walker Bay area and a view of the Fernkloof Mountains and the town of Hermanus on various angles.
