Muchenje Campsite & Cottages is a family owned and managed camp set in the Chobe Enclave, 7.2km from the Chobe National Park, Ngoma gate.
Accommodation options include three self catering cottages, fully equipped with an open plan kitchen, en-suite bathroom and outdoor sitting area and outside shower; lovely covered verandahs with beautiful views. Each cottage contains a double bed and can sleep 2 people.
There are also 10 spacious campsites with communal ablutions, clean running water and braai area.
A peaceful, secure and beautifully property on the borders of the Chobe National park, a perfect stop over for 4x4 enthusiasts wishing to visit Linyanti and Savuti or to spend a night on your way to the Caprivi Strip in Namibia.

From Kazungula/Kasane, Botswana: When you come into Kazungula turn left at the Engen garage following signs for Kazungula/Kasane. (If you need to resupply there are shops and fuel stations at the Kazungula junction and then again in Kasane town) Continue along the A1 until you reach the Chobe National Park access gate. Please alight from your vehicle and sign the book at the office. Your destination is Muchenje. You do not need to pay park fees as you are in transit. Follow the tarred road 60km through the park, note that the speed limit is 80km/h and be careful of animals. When you reach the access gate at Ngoma alight from your vehicle and sign the book at the office. Turn immediately left signposted Mabele/ Kavimba/ Kachikau/ Satua/ Parakarungu/ Savuti/ Linyanti/Maun. Follow the road for 7.2km and turn right into the entrance at the brown SADC signpost Muchenje Campsite and Cottages.

FUEL:
A friendly reminder to all self drive enthusiasts visiting Northern Botswana and Chobe West - the Puma Fuel filling station in Muchenje Village has recently closed and it is uncertain as to when or if it will reopen again this year. Nearest fuel station to Muchenje Campsite & Cottages is in Kasane town. (Jun-2020).
ROAD ACCESS & CONDITIONS:
Access to Muchenje from Kasane is through the Chobe National Park along the tarred transit road and opening times apply to this transit road and all drivers are required to sign the register on entry and exit to the transit road. The parks gate hours are: April-September: Gate opens 06h00 -18h30 and from October- March: Gate opens 05h00 to 19h00.
Access to Muchenje is from well maintained, tarred roads and is suitable for all cars. Please note that if you wish to explore the Chobe National Park 4x4s with good clearance are required! (Jun-2020).
