Directions

From Johannesburg via Bloemfontein:
From the N1 take the exit toward R701 (Gariep Dam).
Turn Left onto the R701.
Turn left onto the R58 (at Quest garage).
Continue straight on R58 go pass Food Zone (on the right) and Forever Resorts (on the left).
After 2km make a sharp right turn into Loerie st and go up the mountain.
Take the first turn left.

From Cape Town:
Stay on the N1 pass Colesberg and take the exit toward R701 (Gariep Dam).
Turn Right onto the R701, Turn left onto the R58 (at Shall garage).
Continue straight on R58 go pass Food Zone (on the right) and Forever Resorts (on the left).
After 2 km make a sharp right turn into Loerie st and go up the mountain.
Take the first turn left.

From Port Elizabeth via Steynsburg:
Venterstad, drive on the R58 and turn Right onto R701.
Go over the Gariep Dam wall and turn Right at the stop onto the R58.
After 3km take a left onto Loerie St going up the mountain.
Take the first turn left.

From Port Elizabeth via Colesberg:
Stay on the N1 and take the exit toward R701 (Gariep Dam).
Turn Right onto the R701, Turn left onto the R58 (at Shall garage).
Continue straight on R58 go pass Food Zone (on the right) and Forever Resorts (on the left).
After 2km make a sharp right turn into Loerie st and go up the mountain.
Take the first turn left.

South Africa's largest water storage reservoir, the Gariep Dam, is placed on the Orange River between the Northern Cape and the Free State just 30 kilometres east of Colesberg.

ATTRACTIONS:
The Gariep Dam Nature Reserve is a game haven on the northern shore of the dam and the Free State's largest nature reserve, boasting the largest population of springbok in the country. It is an incredibly popular outdoor destination for boating and water sports enthusiasts alike, and makes a good break on the journey between Cape Town and Johannesburg. (Nov-15)
