Directions

TO AFRIKHAYA GUEST HOUSE - ST.LUCIA
From Johannesburg: +/- 600km. 7,5hrs. - 9 hrs. Take the N12 past Witbank. Turn off at the N11 and follow the signs to Henderina and Ermelo.Take the N2 from Ermelo through Piet Retief, Pongola and Mkuze. Please note there is ongoing road construction along this road which can cause delay. Take the first turn-off left to Mtubatuba/ St.Lucia. (R 618). Enter Mtubatuba and turn left (after approx. 2 km) towards St.Lucia and follow this road the R 618 for 25 km.

From Swaziland Lavumisa/ Golela Border Post: +/- 150km. 2,5hrs
The road from the border post meets the N2 just South of Pongola. Continue South along the N2 past Mkuze and Hluhluwe.
Take the first turn-off left to Mtubatuba/ St.Lucia. (R 618). Enter Mtubatuba and turn left (after approx. 2 km) towards St.Lucia and follow this road the R 618 for 25 km.

From Durban : +/- 250km. 3hrs.
King Shaka Airport: +/- 190km. 2,5hrs. Take the N2 North direction Stanger, Pongola. Approx. 40 kms after the turn-off to Richards Bay, turn right to Mtubatuba/ St.Lucia. Turn left at the T-junction in Mtubatuba and the second to the right to St.Lucia, R 618 and follow this road for 25 km.

In St.Lucia:
Enter St.Lucia over the Estuary Bridge and turn left at the T-junction. Go immediately right into Beach Road and take the second to the right into Kingfisher Street, take the second to the left into Kabeljoulaan, Afrikhaya Guest House is the third house on the left @ No. 5.

We enjoy a sub-tropical climate, good weather all year round and the area is Malaria free.

LOCATION:
Afrikhaya Guest House is situated a 2.5 hrs. drive North of Durban on the N2 in the province KwaZulu-Natal. The guesthouse is ideally positioned on the Elephant Coast. in the unique St.Lucia village in the quiet residential part of town. St.Lucia is nestled between the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and the St.Lucia Estuary. The village is surrounded by iSimangaliso (Greater St.Lucia) Wetland Park, South Africa's first natural World Heritage Site and is used as a gateway to the southern part of the Park.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS:
Hluhluwe iMfolozi Game Reserve is a 50 minutes drive and Big 5 Game drives can be arranged from the accommodation.
A night drive in iSimangaliso Wetland Park to look for nightly creatures such as leopard, bush baby and porcupine is adventurous. Cultural tours to learn more about the rich Zulu Heritage, snorkelling, fishing, diving, kayaking, hiking or cycling it can all be enjoyed and we gladly arrange it for you. Simply strolling along our picturesque little village, the unspoilt beaches or relaxing on a pool lounger is also an excellent way the pass the time in Zululand.
