Carisford Lodge is an ideally located self-catering resort in Clansthal situated within short walking distance from the beach which is private, and ideal for surfing and snorkelling.

Carisford provides accommodation for any occasion, be it a family holiday, short business trip or outdoor adventure at a rate to suit any pocket. Each main bedroom boasts a double bed & en-suite bathroom. The kitchen and lounge are open plan and fully equipped, enhancing the relaxing vibe and tranquil outdoor sounds.

The Chalets are serviced twice weekly, are air-conditioned and have their own private garden with braai facilities located in the lush sub-tropical vegetation. The entertainment area boasts a stunning pool and fully operational lapa ideal for all functions and events. It has a big screen TV with DSTV for all those memorable sporting moments.

Directions

FROM DURBAN:
Head South on the N2 towards Port Shepstone - go past the Amanzimtoti and Umkomaas turn-off, approximately 4km after the Umkomaas turn-off, take the Scottburgh turn-off.

Follow the road, at the stop street at the top of the turn-off turn left headed towards the sea/ Scottburgh. Follow the road for approximately 2km.

At the T-Junction [R102] turn left - follow the road for approximately 6 kilometres, you will pass Crocword on your left, more or less 2km after Crocworld turn right and immediate left [Clansthal sign situated on the corner of the road].

Carisford Lodge is situated a couple of meters on the right hand side - You have arrived at your destination.

The spectacular setting of the wonderful seaside suburb of Clansthal is hard to beat and being just 5 minutes' drive from Scottburgh, it provides the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of the area. Clansthal is a suburb on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, located between Umkomaas and Scottburgh and whilst it is small, this forms the very basis of its relaxing and peaceful appeal.

ATTRACTIONS:
Clansthal is quite popular with divers, golfers, nature lovers, holiday makers and adventure seekers alike for its sandy beaches, world top 10 dive location (Aliwal Shoal), pristine golf courses, various nature reserves, including Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve and Oribi Gorge and activities like Crocworld which has a wide range of reptiles, birds and aquarium fish. Wake up to the sound of the waves on one of the most renown surfing beaches on the South Coast (Greenpoint), watch the dolphins playing in the waves, spot a whale further out or stroll to the point from which you can see the Lighthouse.
