Bulawayo Railway Museum exhibits history of railway in Zimbabwe and Rhodesia with exhibits dating back to 1897 and also includes some of Cecil Rhodes' personal railway coach. The museum is situated next to the railway station and also owned and managed by the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ). The exhibits also includes models as well as steam and diesel electric locomotives.
Access is possible via the pedestrian footbridge at the station as the museum is located in area which was a previously a workshop used in the maintenance of refrigeration wagons. This museum houses the history of this important transport mode which was at the forefront of developing this part of central and Southern Africa.
