The Tzaneen Dam is the best place for fishing fundi's, but if you love the outdoors this is a place to make part of your regular leisure. It is quite simply the best place for catching fish in Africa. The Dam which used to be known as the Fanie Botha Dam before, lies just outside the town of Tzaneen on the Groot Letaba River, surrounded bt nature reserves. There are over 350 bird-species recorded on and around the water. The best time to visit Tzaneen is in the spring is in Spring.
