Butiaba, is a town in the Western Region of Uganda. It is a fishing town and landing site on the shores of Lake Albert, in Uganda. The main economic activity and livelihood is fishing as well as their goats, cows and thin bleating sheep rearing. At the roadside market, locals come to sell whatever they can grow.
The Butiaba Escarpment is one interesting feature in the town which is surrounded by hot springs at Kibiro salt garden where the water boils at 100% all year round. Most people who visit the Butiaba escarpment often visit the hot springs where they believe the water can heal.
