Oaksrest Vineyards Guest farm is located in the beautiful Dwarsriver Valley at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Range,just a stone’s throw away from Ladismith on the R62. Only 3.5 hours from Cape Town 2 hours from George and 1 hour from Oudtshoorn where the historic towns of Calitzdorp and Barrydale are both about 60 km km away and the scenic winelands and orchards of the Klein Karoo are easily accessible from here.
Our campsite is literally between the vineyards and on the banks of our Pinotage Lake area offering you 5 thick lawn stands with shaded areas next to the dam. Individual stands have electrical hook-ups fresh water and braai facilities. Ample braai wood provided at R 35.00 per big bag.
A 5 star ablution facility provides showers and toilets with washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, microwave oven and free Wi-Fi as well. So if you enjoy waking up to the sounds of the prolific bird life, breathing in fresh country air, enjoying long walks on farm and mountain bike trails, lush gardens, fishing, canoeing and swimming in the dam with a built in wooden deck with inflatable tubes then this is a perfect setting for you.
Be amazed at the stars in the clear night sky and remember the majestic call of the Fish Eagle for a long time to come. 5 x campsites accommodating 4 persons per campsite.

From Barrydale: Travel in an easterly direction from Barrydale towards Ladismith along the R62 for 65 km. Turn left at the Laingsburg road and continue for 11 km until you reach a T-junction. Turn right towards Ladismith and after 5.2 km turn left at the first Dwarsrivier turn-off which is just after a sharp bend to the left so please be careful not to miss this turn-off. Follow the dirt road for 3.7 km and cross the low tide bridge and turn to your left and follow the dirt road for 600 metres and you will find Oaksrest Vineyards on your left. From Oudtshoorn: Travel in a westerly direction from Oudtshoorn towards Ladismith along the R62 for 99 km (do not turn left towards Barrydale or Cape Town at Route 62 garage in Ladismith) and follow the right hand 90 degree turn just after the big white church on your left. After approximately 200 metres you will get to a T-junction. Turn left on the Laingsburg road (R323) and travel for 9 km where you will find the second Dwarsrivier turn-off on your right. Follow the dirt road for 3.7 km and cross the low tide bridge and turn to your left and follow the dirt road for 600 metres and you will find Oaksrest Vineyards on your left. From Riversdale: Travel along the R323 from Riversdale to Ladismith for 68 km. Turn right towards Ladismith for 3.2 km and turn left at the Laingsburg road and continue for 11 km until you reach a T-junction. Turn right towards Ladismith and after 5.2 km turn left at the first Dwarsrivier turn-off which is just after a sharp bend to the left so please be careful not to miss this turn-off. Follow the dirt road for 3.7 km and cross the low tide bridge and turn to your left and follow the dirt road for 600 metres and you will find Oaksrest Vineyards on your left.

The rainy season is in winter. The guest farm can be reached by car, the road conditions are good. The closest airport is in George, the George International Airport, about 2 hours away. A shuttle service can be arranged. There are car rental facilities at the airport. Prebooking at the guest farm is preferred but not essential.
