"Dams": as they are known to many, are one of Bulawayo most popular recreational park. This 86- hectare property lies 6 km south of the City center. It comprises of an extensive natural area, together with several gardened sections around two dams. Formerly known as Bulawayo Bird Sanctuary & Nature Reserve and designated as National Monument (no34). Has rich heritage history as one of King Lobengulas retreat and home to about 4 sights of rock paintings. One of a kind Aloe Garden established in the 1960s with a sizeable collection of of over 1500 aloe.
For accommodation are campsites with clean toilets and showers and braai area. Overnight security and ranger on patrol are available for campers. Power and WiFi available at the common room/ restaurant. Caretaker available.
