“Pretoriuskop derives its name from the Voortrekker, Willem Pretorius, a member of the Carel Trichardt expedition, who died there in 1845. He was buried by João Albasini in a grave that can be seen on the southern side of the H1-1 near Numbi Gate on the way to Pretoriuskop.” - Chris Smit, 2024/06/22
