Boschfontein Mountain Lodge is an 18-sleeper self-catering lodge on a farm near Ficksburg. Each unit has an en suite bathroom (basin, shower and toilet) connected to the ground floor bedroom, fireplace in the ground floor bedroom. The communal living areas include the kitchen, braai areas, bar, lounge and verandas. Wood is provided for the fireplaces and the braai areas. Linen and towels are provided.
The Lodge is completely off grid and uses a modest solar system and gas geysers. Solar power provides electricity to power the lights, medium sized fridge-freezer and the two plug points for charging cell phones. There is no oven, microwave, toaster, electric slow cooker, air fryer or hairdryer at the lodge as they use more electricity than what the solar system can support
