Miombo specials such the Miombo Rock Thrush, African Golden Oriole and southern Hyliota can be find in the miombo woodlands area, while Yellow-mantled Widowbird, Yellow-throated Longclaw, Marsh Owl and Red Chested Flufftail frequent the swamps in the grasslands. Augar Buzzard and Cinnamon-breasted bunting are found around the granite koppies while the lake is home to African Darter, African Fish Eagle and various species of herons, egrets and ducks.
