There is 1 trail of 9km long, which can be completed in about 2 to 3 hours. This trail is suitable for a 4X2 vehicle with a diff lock, also suitable for a soft roader (a vehicle without low range), low range gears are required to complete this trail, vehicle needs good ground clearance, it is a self drive trail, rescue services are available, there is good cellphone coverage on this trail, there is shade and a swimming available.
The 9-km trail features obstacles such as axle twisters, steep, challenging rocky ascents and descents, cambers, a couple of water crossings and some obstacles that will test traction and wheel articulation. There is always an option to bypass difficult sections, making it perfect for owners of soft-roaders biased more towards boulevard than bush. To keep the more experienced off-roaders happy, the return trip features a series of dongas or steep-sided ditches followed by a gloriously-muddy river crossing. Although the trail can be completed in two to three hours, there's no time limit and most parties stay for the whole day, returning to the ditches and mud holes for more off-road fun, with the option of relaxing at a picnic area and lapa along the route. Maximum vehicles 20. No recovery services offered, you will be responsible to arrange your own.
Accommodation: Hiker's huts and camping, with hot water. Take a drive to Hartbeespoort Dam, Hennops picnic spots or hiking trail.
